prune and hope

twisted frame

twisted and broken

forced out of shape

the foundations are mangled

held together with tape

no blossoms, no beauty

can come from this mess

one hope remains

one way to redress

cut everything back

let the old branches die

see if the roots

are all rotten inside

when the darkness abates

the gales whisper not roar

when there’s warmth

then the buds may just blossom once more
